To be successful, what does the student of tomorrow have to look like coming out of high school? In today’s ever-changing world, knowing what opportunities exist in industry and what skills are needed to be successful in them is critical information for educators and students alike.

This action-oriented training is designed to provide insight into workforce development trends, challenges and opportunities and provide concrete ideas for bringing this information back to the classroom. Panel discussions will share with you the concrete skills required for career growth in the 21st century. Educators, guidance counselors and administrators will hear from key industry veterans from diverse industries on topics such as:

  • Career Opportunities: Certain industries and careers will experience steady growth in the coming decades. With local Manchester business leaders, we will examine industry trends and employment growth projections for growing career paths.
  • Business Innovation: Panelists from some of Manchester’s “coolest,” most innovative businesses will share their insight into what skills are required for growing career fields to assist you in identifying and directing students to a successful career path – and the skills they will need to focus on for success.
  • Soft Skills: Jobs require certain core abilities for success. Our industry leaders will discuss the professionalism and “soft skills” they are looking for in a new hire, and how you can help prepare your students with a competitive advantage to succeed as a young professional.

Dynamic speakers from the Manchester business community representing high-growth industries and some of the most innovative companies in the city will provide the insight needed for educators to fully prepare students to focus on their individual paths to success.
Educators will walk away from the day energized and with the knowledge and tools necessary to create new and unique curriculum designed to ensure students are prepared for the workforce of tomorrow. Resource materials will be provided to further allow for participants to apply and implement new learning through in-class work and real-world application of the tools provided.
