Sandy Williams, President of Access Biomedical Solutions, fell in love with the promise of biological materials during her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta where she developed bioreactors for small diameter tissue-engineered vascular grafts.
“From bench to bedside in regenerative medicine, the challenge is bringing together the right team with diverse perspectives and areas of expertise,” Dr. Williams said. “I noticed this early on during a brief consulting project while in graduate school. Working with an industry collaborator on a next-gen bioreactor showed me how a team with diverse backgrounds can become your product development jet fuel and dramatically increase your odds of success.”
Today, Access Biomedical Solutions offers consulting services to the broader biomedical industry, from regenerative medicine to medical devices and suppliers to the industry, to do just that: complement a company’s team by identifying blind spots and accelerating commercialization efforts.
Dr. Williams’ specialty is the marriage of strong technical skills with marketing and business expertise that she has developed over the last 15 years. Each client project is unique and focused on what’s going to propel their business forward: funding proposal support and investor presentations, market research, buyer personas and business plans, design of experiments and test protocols for FDA submissions, to online digital presence, social media, marketing collateral and lead generation for sales teams.
A long-term client of the company has achieved 20% annual revenue growth fueled partially by business and marketing support from Access Biomedical Solutions. “The best feeling is helping clients accomplish their goals and serve our industry; that’s what drives me every day.” Dr. Williams notes.
“I first learned about ARMI|BioFabUSA through conversations with Dr. Tom Bollenbach, CTO of ARMI, while ARMI was preparing its funding application. I had the opportunity to contribute content to the proposal on behalf of a bioreactor client of mine and was delighted to hear that funding was granted by the DoD,” she said, adding, “Now, I am beginning work with Tom on ARMI’s technological roadmap.”
“There are some very high hurdles for companies in regenerative medicine, from regulatory and reimbursement challenges to standardization and effective evaluation protocols, and ARMI can play a key role in bridging these gaps,” according to Dr. Williams. “What a great vehicle to bring the right people together.”
Access Biomedical Solutions is interested in cost-share with other members on market research to help advance the entire ecosystem and connecting with ARMI members in need of consulting services to bring their products and services to the market. Reach out to email@example.com to connect.
