ARMI | BioFabUSA Monthly Update - 2019 biofabrication industry survey results

The end of every calendar year presents an opportunity to look back and to look forward. Looking back, I am excited by the progress ARMI | BioFabUSA made in 2018. Looking forward, I am even more excited for what 2019 holds. The coming year promises early results from our technical and workforce development projects, more project calls and project awards and events that will deepen the connections within our ecosystem. I am confident that 2019 will see momentum continue to build at an accelerating rate for the organization and for our industry.

To get a sense of the events, the people, and the organizations that will shape the biofabrication industry in 2019 we recently sent out a survey to some of our community’s most engaged participants. The results were intriguing.

We were very encouraged that respondents felt the ARMI | BioFabUSA Summits were important events to attend in the coming year. We were also encouraged to see so many familiar names in the list of people and companies likely to make an impact in 2019. Further, we were excited to see that people agree with our sense of optimism for the advancement of tissue engineered medical products. We also hope that 2019 can be a breakout year for progress on blood vessels, cartilage/ligament/tendon, skin and bone. We took a moment to put the results together in an infographic (below).

Thank you again for your support and engagement in 2018. Together, let us make 2019 a year filled with tangible progress and expanding excitement for the opportunities presented by the biofabrication industry.

Respectfully,

Dean Kamen

Executive Director & Chairman
