Event Update: ASTM Workshop, NEMB Conference and Biotech Week Boston 2018

August 10, 2018: ASTM Workshop on Characterization of Fiber-Based Scaffolds – Manchester, New Hampshire

ARMI | BioFabUSA will be hosting a “Workshop on Characterization of Fiber-Based Scaffolds,” which will be held on August 10, 2018. This workshop is jointly sponsored by the ASTM International Committee F04 on Medical and Surgical Materials and Devices with participation from the Standards Coordinating Body (SCB).

This workshop will provide a collaborative and innovative environment with two moderated discussions that will focus on key fiber-based scaffold measurements that need improvement: “porosity” and “diffusivity.” The outcomes of this workshop will be made publicly available through a report and will aid in the development of not only scaffolding technologies, but the ARMI | BioFabUSA mission to make practical the large-scale manufacture of engineered tissues and tissue-related technologies.

Registration for this event closes tomorrow, August 3rd, so be sure to reserve your spot now!

August 21-24, 2018: Nanoengineering for Medicine and Biology Conference – Los Angeles, California

Nanoengineering for Medicine and Biology (NEMB) aims to bring together leading experts in bioengineering, nanomaterials, biology and medicine, to review recent advances in nanoengineering and nanomedicine. ARMI | BioFabUSA is pleased to announce that is a sponsor of the event.

This is done to stimulate the development of new experimental methods, synthetic approaches and modeling, and to apply innovative bioengineering methodologies for sensing, quantifying, diagnosing, understanding and treating medical disorders. To learn more about this event, click here!

September 4-7, 2018: Biotech Week Boston – Boston, Massachusetts

As a part of Biotech Week Boston, ARMI is partnering with KNect365 to host a pre-conference workshop during the Cell & Gene Therapy Bioprocessing & Commercialization event which will take place September 4-7 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.

ARMI | BioFabUSA would like to take this opportunity to use the conference as a platform to not only promote our members, but also share the incredible technologies that our members are involved with. If you are interested in participating, please contact Andrea Stasio (astasio@armiusa.org) who will help ensure that your presence at Biotech Week Boston alongside ARMI | BioFabUSA is a success.

This conference promises unparalleled access and exposure to key decision makes including Dr. Thomas Bollenbach, Chief Technology Officer at ARMI | BioFabUSA, who will be chairing the September 4th Pre-Conference Workshop titled, “Process Development and Manufacturing Scale Up for Engineered Tissues.”

Please also consider joining the Post Workshop Networking Reception at Boston University. Space is limited and will be granted to ARMI | BioFabUSA members on a first come-first serve priority basis. All non-members are welcome to request an invite to the event and will be notified by August 17th if space is available.
