Patrick Thayer graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering in 2010. In 2015, he obtained a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Tech. After graduation he joined CELLINK as the Chief Bioink Officer. At CELLINK he has focused on developing and standardizing bioinks for commercialization for the bioprinting field. These standardized bioinks now total over 40 different variations and are utilized in labs and companies in nearly 50 countries and 500 labs all over the world. Greatly interested in pushing the bioprinting field forward, he is always excited to work with labs all over the world on progressing their research in or becoming involved in bioprinting. Additionally, he has worked the role of bioprinting in education and workforce development. In particular, he has worked on the CELLINK educational platform developing lesson plans and other exercises for grade levels ranging from K to 12 to university undergraduate and graduate.
