ARMI | BioFabUSA and Members Featured in Wicked STEM 2026 Special Section

The New Hampshire Union Leader’s Wicked STEM 2026 special section highlights ARMI | BioFabUSA’s education and workforce efforts alongside innovations from members Safi Biotherapeutics and ASI Life Sciences.

ARMI | BioFabUSA and several members of its community are featured in the New Hampshire Union Leader’s Wicked STEM 2026 special section, highlighting the people, technologies and career pathways shaping the future of biomanufacturing and regenerative medicine.

The special section features Christy Johnson, ARMI’s Director of Education and Workforce Development, and ARMI’s work to create accessible pathways into biomanufacturing. Johnson discusses BioTrek, ARMI’s hands-on program that challenges students to work collaboratively to solve real-world problems, develop solutions and present their ideas to industry leaders.

The coverage also highlights innovation happening across the ARMI community. Safi Biotherapeutics’ Janice M. Moser, Ph.D., discusses the company’s work to manufacture red blood cells at scale and its efforts to advance the technology toward clinical use in collaboration with ARMI. Jay Hoying of ASI Life Sciences is featured for his work in tissue therapeutics and technologies designed to enable the manufacturing of advanced 3D tissue models.

Johnson, Moser and Hoying will each speak at Wicked STEM 2026 on September 19 at the SNHU Athletic Complex in Manchester, New Hampshire. ARMI will also provide a hands-on exhibit where attendees can explore regenerative manufacturing through pipetting activities, decellularized organs, cell-based products, educational resources and information about careers in the field.
