BioFab Explorer: Invent Your Future

An ARMI | BioFabUSA member designed BioFab Explorer, a free Google site meant to help educators and students discover new ways to build an understanding of the complex, emerging field of biofabrication.

CAST, a non-profit organization based in Massachusetts, designed Biofab Explorer: Invent Your Future in response to an ARMI | BioFabUSA education and workforce development project call. BioFab Explorer, a free Google site, provides new ways for teachers, guidance counselors and students to build understanding of a complex, emerging field called biofabrication. Educators and students are able to access: a series of videos profiling diverse career paths into biofabrication; stories of people positively impacted by biofabrication technologies, and activities that teachers, guidance counselors or students working independently can use to explore career pathways in biofabrication.

A pilot cohort of Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers and their students have used this tool. CAST and ARMI | BioFabUSA are exploring additional ways in which this tool can be expanded, such as its use in dual-enrollment courses or via mobile device application.
